Oppo Find X8 Pro Review: Hasselblad Excellence in a Sleek Package

Introduction

The Oppo Find X8 Pro is a true flagship that blends refined hardware with Hasselblad’s legendary color science. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 and featuring a quad-camera setup with two telephoto lenses, it aims to carve out a niche between photography-focused devices like the Vivo X200 Pro and performance flagships like the Xiaomi 16 Pro and OnePlus 13. With a 6.78-inch quad-curved AMOLED, 5910mAh battery, and Oppo’s signature cos-style design, the Find X8 Pro feels premium in every way.

Design and Build Quality

The Find X8 Pro is one of the best-looking phones of 2026. Oppo’s signature curved glass design wraps around to meet a polished aluminum frame, creating an illusion of seamlessness. The quad-curved display minimizes accidental touches while looking gorgeous. The circular camera island is elegantly integrated, and the phone sits flat on a desk — a rare achievement for a large camera module.

At 208g, it’s lighter than its main competitors. The IP68 rating provides full water protection. The alert slider returns as a customizable button called the Action Button, which can launch the camera, toggle silent mode, or trigger other shortcuts.

Performance

The Dimensity 9400 delivers flagship-level performance. In daily use, ColorOS 15 feels incredibly responsive with excellent animation fluidity. Gaming performance is strong — Genshin Impact runs at 59 fps average with stable frame pacing. The phone does get warm under extended gaming sessions but stays within acceptable limits (peaking at 43°C).

Camera

Hasselblad’s involvement shines through in portrait mode. The combination of a 3x and 6x telephoto lens gives incredible flexibility for framing subjects. Portrait color is warm, natural, and film-like — Oppo calls this the “Hasselblad Portrait” style, and it genuinely stands out. The 50MP main sensor captures excellent detail with fast autofocus.

Low-light performance is very good but not class-leading — the Vivo X200 Pro and Xiaomi 16 Pro deliver slightly better results in extreme darkness. The ultra-wide lens is well-corrected with minimal distortion, and 4K 60fps video stabilization is smooth.

User Reviews

“Beautiful design and premium build. The screen is gorgeous and the battery lasts a full day.” — JD.com user 💡 Design and display are top-tier selling points.

“Good camera but Vivo still wins on zoom. Oppo’s software updates have been fast though.” — JD.com user 💡 Camera is strong but zoom doesn’t match Vivo’s 200MP periscope.
