Build Quality

UGREEN Revodok 7-in-1 (¥149): The clear winner in build quality. Full aluminum unibody with a seamless, precision-machined finish that matches the aesthetics of a MacBook. The USB-C cable is reinforced at both connection points with extended strain relief. The ports are tight without being stiff — cables click in with satisfying resistance.

Baseus 8-in-1 Metal (¥119): Also aluminum alloy, but the finish is slightly less refined than UGREEN — the seams where the aluminum meets the end caps are visible if you look closely. The port selection is better (adds Ethernet) and build is still excellent for ¥119. The cable is slightly shorter at 15cm.

SSK 6-in-1 (¥69): A plastic body with aluminum end caps. It feels lighter and less premium than the all-metal competitors, but the build is solid for ¥69. No creaking or flexing. The main compromise is the 60W PD (not 100W) and the limited 4K@30Hz HDMI output.

Port Selection and Features

Baseus 8-in-1 (¥119): Best port selection at this price. HDMI 4K@60Hz + 2× USB-A + USB-C data + SD/microSD + Ethernet + 100W PD. Ethernet is the key differentiator — no other sub-¥120 hub offers wired networking with 100W PD pass-through.

UGREEN Revodok 7-in-1 (¥149): No Ethernet but includes HDMI 4K@60Hz, 2× USB-A 3.0, USB-C data, SD/microSD, and 100W PD. The display output supports 4K@60Hz (vs SSK’s 4K@30Hz). The lack of Ethernet is the main trade-off.

SSK 6-in-1 (¥69): Most basic port selection. HDMI 4K@30Hz (significantly slower than competitors at 4K), 2× USB-A, SD/microSD, 60W PD. No USB-C data port, no Ethernet. Fine for basic use, but the 4K@30Hz limit is a real compromise for monitor users.

Performance Testing

Display Output:

  • UGREEN and Baseus: 4K@60Hz — smooth desktop use, no stuttering in video
  • SSK: 4K@30Hz — cursor feels sluggish, video playback is choppy at 4K

Data Transfer (10GB file via USB-A 3.0):

  • UGREEN: 35 seconds (5Gbps USB 3.0)
  • Baseus: 35 seconds
  • SSK: 37 seconds (slightly slower controller)

Charging Pass-Through:

  • UGREEN (100W): 95W delivered to MacBook Pro 14 — full speed
  • Baseus (100W): 93W delivered — very good
  • SSK (60W): 57W delivered — acceptable for MacBook Air, slow for Pro

User Reviews

“UGREEN Revodok 7-in-1 is the best hub for MacBook users. The aluminum finish matches perfectly, the 4K@60Hz HDMI is smooth, and 100W PD charges my MacBook Pro at full speed. No Ethernet, but I use WiFi at my desk. At ¥149, it’s the best-built hub in this comparison.” — JD.com user (rated 5/5, 5000+ helpful votes)

“Baseus 8-in-1 at ¥119 is the best value hub on JD.com. HDMI + Ethernet + 100W PD in an aluminum body. I use Ethernet for stable Zoom calls and the hub handles everything perfectly. The only downside is the short 15cm cable — it’s tight on my desk setup.” — JD.com user (rated 5/5, 2000+ helpful votes)

“SSK 6-in-1 for ¥69 is fine for basic use. I use it with my iPad Pro — 4K@30Hz is acceptable for productivity apps and the SD card slot reads my camera cards. 60W PD charges my iPad at full speed. Can’t beat the price. Just don’t expect premium performance.” — Xiaohongshu user

“UGREEN vs Baseus: both are great. UGREEN has better build quality and 4K@60Hz display. Baseus has Ethernet and costs ¥30 less. For desk use with Ethernet, get Baseus. For travel with better display output, get UGREEN. SSK is your budget backup.” — Xiaohongshu user

Category Winners

Best Overall: Baseus 8-in-1 Metal (¥119)

The best combination of ports (including Ethernet), build quality, display output, and price. At ¥119, it’s the most versatile budget hub available.

Best Build: UGREEN Revodok 7-in-1 (¥149)

Superior aluminum unibody construction, 4K@60Hz, and 100W PD. The extra ¥30 over Baseus is worth it for the refined build and if you don’t need Ethernet.

Best Budget: SSK 6-in-1 (¥69)

¥69 for a basic hub with SD reader and PD pass-through is unbeatable. The 4K@30Hz limit and 60W PD are significant compromises, but for the price, the value is there.

FAQ

Q1: Should I pay extra for 4K@60Hz vs 4K@30Hz? If you use a 4K monitor, yes — 4K@30Hz feels noticeably sluggish. Cursor movement, scrolling, and video playback all suffer. For 1080P monitors, the difference between 30Hz and 60Hz is equally noticeable. Always choose 4K@60Hz if your monitor supports it.

Q2: Is Ethernet necessary in a hub? For video conferencing, large file downloads, and any situation where Wi-Fi is unreliable, yes. If your desk is near a Wi-Fi router with strong signal, you may not need it. Baseus’s Ethernet inclusion at ¥119 is a significant advantage.

Q3: Does 100W vs 60W PD matter for iPad Pro? For iPad Pro (max 30W charging), 60W PD is sufficient. For MacBook Air (max 30-35W), both are fine. For MacBook Pro 14 (max 70W), 60W PD will charge but slowly — 100W is recommended.

Q4: Which hub has the longest USB-C cable? UGREEN Revodok (18cm) has the longest cable. Baseus (15cm) and SSK (15cm) are shorter. For desktops where the laptop sits behind a monitor, consider a hub with a detachable cable or extension.

Buying Advice

Best Value (~$16): Baseus 8-in-1 Metal (¥119). HDMI 4K@60Hz + Ethernet + 100W PD + aluminum build. The best sub-¥150 hub.

Best Build (~$20): UGREEN Revodok 7-in-1 (¥149). Premium aluminum, 4K@60Hz display, 100W PD. No Ethernet but superior construction.
